The Øresund Bridge invites you to The Bridge Run 2025

Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 9:00 AM marks the start of a half marathon that takes place over and under water – between Denmark and Sweden via the Øresund Bridge.

“The bridge connects us. With a bridge run gathering 40,000 runners on the bridge, we strengthen the cohesion in the region even further. The Bridge Run is a perfect way to celebrate 25 years together with a public celebration all the way from Denmark to Sweden across the bridge,” says Linus Eriksson, CEO of Øresundsbron.

Øresundsbron hosts The Bridge Run 2025, while the organizers are rooted on both sides of the strait. It is the sports associations MAI and Sparta who have once again been tasked with organizing The Bridge Run 2025.

“We are incredibly pleased that MAI and Sparta will once again organize a Bridge Run in 2025 on the Øresund Bridge. They are experienced organizers, and with them, the community is engaged across Øresund,” says Linus Eriksson.

Runners start in Kastrup and cover the 16 kilometers of the Øresund Link before concluding the half marathon on the Swedish side with the finish line in Malmö.

The Bridge Run will be conducted with accessibility for Øresundsbron’s customers and in collaboration with relevant safety and emergency authorities. Øresundsbron’s vision is to be the world’s most sustainable bridge, and therefore, we set high standards for the Bridge Run to be conducted as sustainably as possible.

“It means a lot that we get the opportunity to host another magnificent run over the Øresund together with our Swedish colleagues from the running and athletics club MAI in Malmö. As a running and athletics association, we are delighted that through running, we can help mark the 25th anniversary of the connection between Denmark and Sweden alongside thousands of running enthusiasts,” says Dorte Vibjerg, CEO of Sparta Atletik & Løb.

“MAI appreciates the trust from Øresundsbron. We are very happy and proud that we, together with Sparta, can once again welcome thousands of runners to the bridge in June 2025,” says Mats Svensson, chairman of Malmö Allmänna Idrottsförening, MAI.
