Your checklist before race day

Tomorrow, an experience beyond the ordinary awaits:

THE BRIDGE RUN 2025.

We look forward to seeing you at the start line. But first, we’d like to share our most important advice and checklist for you as a runner.

The weather is going to be hot – take it easy

The Bridge Run is unlike any other races. You’ll face different wind conditions, running up hill from the tunnel to the high bridge, no shade – and you must also be prepared for the heat to hit as you come off the bridge and reach Swedish soil.

So: Take it easy. Listen to your body. Enjoy your run.

We also recommend:

  • Drink plenty of water and remember to get salt and sugar
  • Bring a cap and sunscreen
  • Don’t overdress
  • And most importantly: Take it easy.

If you feel unwell or see someone who needs help, please reach out to one of the many volunteers in yellow vests along the course. They can call for assistance.

Medical teams will be present at the start, finish, and at every hydration station along the route.
The organisers are also in close dialogue with national weather services.

Be prepared for queues and waiting time

When 40,000 runners and their luggage are crossing a border over the sea, it’s a major logistical operation. So be ready for queues and bring your patience.

  • 25,000 Swedes will travel to the start in Denmark in the morning
  • 40,000 bags need to be checked in before the race bag deadline
  • 45 trucks will cross the Øresund Bridge in a convoy to ensure your bag is waiting for you at the finish

It’s going to be incredible. And yes – there will be queues and waiting time.
But!

  • You’re part of one of the most spectacular half marathons you’ll ever experience
  • You’ll get to run through a tunnel, over Peberholm, and cross a national border over the sea on the amazing Øresund Bridge
  • It’s not about finishing fast – it’s about finishing strong

Good to know

Tunnel ventilation:
During the Bridge Run, the tunnel’s ventilation system will be turned off to reduce noise and let the sound of excited runners’ footsteps set the scene. Air quality is monitored, and if needed due to weather or air conditions, the ventilation will be switched on. If you hear it – it’s all part of the plan and nothing to worry about.

Help us keep the course clean:
Thank you for respecting that we’re running across a bridge over the sea and near protected nature. Please don’t litter on the course – trash could blow into the sea! Hold on to your waste until you reach the many bins on the left side after the hydration stations.

Get to the start and home from the finish:
Make sure you know your transport plan for race day. We’ve gathered lots of info for you – whether you’re starting from Denmark or Sweden, and when it’s time to head home from the finish in Sibbarp. Read more here: Transport

Check you bag drop deadline:
You have been assigned a baggage drop deadline (see the email with your start card and QR code), and it’s important that you stick to it. After this time, the truck carrying your start group’s baggage will leave the start area and go to Sweden.
You can find videos on the event’s Instagram where you’ll see how to properly close your race bag and attach your bag tag.
