Traffic on race day

On Sunday 15 June, the traffic situation in Tårnby and around Kastrup Airport, on the Øresund Bridge and in Malmø/Hyllie/Sibbarb will be extraordinarily affected by The Bridge Race.

Traffic across the Øresund Bridge will be affected by the Bridge Race between 6:00-17:00. Throughout this period, there will be reduced speed for car traffic.

We advise against all unnecessary traffic in the start area in Tårnby and around Kastrup Airport from 9-14. And you should expect waiting time on the metro, bus and train in the area around Tårnby and Kastrup during the same period.

ÖRESUNDSBRON

Traffic over the Øresund Bridge

Between 9:30-13:30, traffic in the tunnel will be one-way in one lane and change approximately every 15 minutes. During this time, expect the most congestion and extra travelling time.

From approximately 17:00, the Øresund Bridge will be open with two lanes in both directions.

From 6:00-9:30 and from 13:30-17:00, the impact on traffic in both the tunnel and on the Øresund Bridge will be less. There will be an open lane for cars in both directions, allowing traffic to flow more freely.

Our recommendations

By bike or by foot

Pedestrians and cyclists are not allowed on the course, but it is possible to cross the course in Tårnby and Sweden when there are no runners.

However, several sections are fully fenced, so you have to walk along the course a bit before you can cross it. Always follow instructions from race officials when crossing the course.

Car

We advise against all unnecessary car traffic in the start area in Tårnby and around Copenhagen Airport from 9-14.

Use the course map to orientate yourself about traffic conditions on your course if you will be driving on the day.

It will be possible to drop off participants by car at designated locations within walking distance of the start area at Øresundsparken. However, we recommend arriving at the start area by public transport to Femøren Station or by bike.

Car traffic from Dragør towards Copenhagen Airport via Kystvejen and Lufthavnsboulevarden will be blocked both before and during the start of the race.

*Details about the exact time of the closure and traffic diversion will be updated on this page.
